THE VILLAGE AT LAUREL CELEBRATES NATIONAL ASSISTED LIVING WEEK BY BRINGING PARIS TO LEE
Lee, MA (September 17, 2009)- Eiffel Tower? Oui! Maybe a few star in the evening sky? Oui. How about ladies in berets and fish net stockings? Oui! Oui! The Village at Laurel Lake celebrated National Assisted Living Week by bringing Paris to Lee in an evening entitled, “A Night in Paris."
A 20-foot Eiffel tower was bathed in twinkling white lights as it served as the Village’s foyer centerpiece. Twinkling stars were projected onto the cathedral ceiling and the library and country kitchen were transformed into Parisian bistros. The Villages’ authentic French belle, Tina Porrini, who welcomed guests with a beautiful greeting spoken in her native romantic language, opened this incredible event.
Over 200 community members, residents and family members dined on Ratatouille, Beef Bourguignon and Coq au vin, sipped French martinis and listened to romantic music being played from the grand piano. After dinner, guests enjoyed chocolate mousse, pastries and ballroom dancing! Led by professional dancers, Dave and Dawn, each guest was treated to a dance and a show by the very talented pair.
One guest said it all when he commented to the Executive Director, Delores Thimot, “Delores, you have really outdone yourself here. How you are going to top this? I will come back next year to find out but I just don’t know”. Delores looked over at the gentlemen, sighed a deep sigh and said, “I will start thinking about that tomorrow!”
